A new AV System for St Mary's
Before Christmas, we launched a survey on our website to ask for responses to our proposed new AV System. Thank you to everyone who responded.
You can view the full results of the survey here. They show large support for the proposed system (83.3% agree or strongly agree the proposed system meets our needs), and enthusiasm for a regular use of the system once installed (49.1% responded 'at most services' which was the most popular response). A range of priorities emerged, including preserving the beauty of our building, improving hearing access and engaging more effectively with our community.
We allowed people to give freeform comments about the system, which showed a mixture of views, negative and positive. These are published without comment above. While we know that a project of this magnitude will never please everyone, we are confident that the proposed system will enhance the variety of worship we are able to offer once services are able to resume in the building, especially with the quality of sound. The retractable screen will mean that the aesthetic of the church can be preserved for the majority of the time the building is in use.
The PCC are pleased to announce that having followed the Faculty process of the Diocese of London, the Archdeacon of Middlesex has, in consultation with the Diocesan Advisory Committee, granted approval of the works to go ahead under List B and without full Faculty.
Our partner, Distributed Sound & Video (DSAV) are holding a Question and Answer Session on the capability and usage of the proposed system on Tuesday 26 January at 8pm. Please email Rev Elis for the Zoom link if you would like to attend.
We aim to provide a further update on our progress in due course.
