if you can show that one of the following apply:

·        One of you has at any time lived in the parish for a period of at least 6 months or

·        One of you was baptised in the parish concerned or

·        One of you was prepared for confirmation in the parish or

·        One of you has at any time regularly gone to normal church services in the parish church for a period of at least 6 months or

·        One of your parents, at any time after you were born has lived in the parish for a period of at least 6 months or

·        One of your parents, at any time after you were born has regularly gone to normal church services in the parish church for a period of at least 6 months or

·        One of your parents or grandparents was married in the parish

If either of you have been married before this must be mentioned at the initial enquiry.  There are some additional details that we would need to ascertain whether marriage in church is possible – this would be discussed at the initial meeting with the vicar.   

If either or both of you are not UK residents this must be mentioned at the initial enquiry, as we would need to process your enquiry differently.  This will involve a meeting with a local ‘surrogate’ to go through all your paperwork.  The vicar will talk this through with you at the initial meeting.
