Week 1 – Babies

Ash Wednesday 17 February: Ask God for forgiveness for the times you’ve failed to make space to pray in the past, and ask Him for the strength to pray regularly during Lent this year.

Thursday 18 February: Pray for Jump for Joy meeting at 2pm that it will be a time of nurture for the parents/carers and children who come.

Friday 19 February: Pray for parents of newborn babies that you would give them the strength and patience they need with each other and with their baby.

Saturday 20 February: Thank God that he has a plan for every new life that is being created in a mothers’ womb.

Sunday 21 February: Pray for crèche on Sundays that it would continue to provide a great service for parents of younger members of the church.

Monday 22 February: Pray that even at this early stage in a child’s life that they would be encouraged to know that there is a God who loves them.

Tuesday 23 February: Remember new babies born to young and/or single mums in the area that they would find the support they need during the first few months.

Week 2 – Pre-schoolers (Under 4 years)

Wednesday 24 February: Thank God for the joy of seeing babies turn into little people and pray for patience for parents as they go through the process.

Thursday 25 February: Pray for Jump for Joy meeting at 2pm that the older children who attend would grow in their personal faith, supported by their parents.

Friday 26 February: Pray for the Under 3s group that meets at St Mary’s at 1pm that this would be a fun and safe time of play for the children.

Saturday 27 February: Remember young children whose parents aren’t coping and who lack the love and care that many of us take for granted.

Sunday 28 February: Pray for the new Pebbles group that it would continue to nurture faith in some of the youngest members of our church.

Monday 1 March: Pray for playgroup that meets at church that the children would have fun, remain safe and gain an understanding of what else goes on at St Mary’s.

Tuesday 2 March: Pray for those who have recently started or are about to start nursery/playgroups that they would settle in quickly.

Week 3 – Infant school age (4-6 years)

 Wednesday 3 March: Pray for those who have recently started school that they wouldalready have made friends and feel at home in their classes.

Thursday 4 March: Pray that these young children would already be getting into good habits in terms of what they eat and enjoying healthy exercise.

Friday 5 March: Remember children who at this early age have to come to terms with the loss of someone that they love.

Saturday 6 March: Pray for those who are older brothers or sisters that they would be loving and caring to their younger siblings.

Sunday 7 March: Pray for Junior Church that the children who attend would have fun and learn more about Jesus.

Monday 8 March: Thank Jesus for the joy of seeing a small child discover something new about the world that they live in.

Tuesday 9 March: Pray for children who have a handicap or an incurable disease, that they would be brave and that their parents/carers would have all the strength and grace that they need.

Week 4 – Junior school age (7-11 years)

Wednesday 10 March: Pray for children who already have a strong faith that they would feel able to share this with their friends.

Thursday 11 March: Pray for all those who attend Spring Grove Primary School that they will find this to be a loving and caring environment.

Friday 12 March: Pray for those with older brothers/sisters who are getting into trouble, that rather than follow their lead that they would find other role models.

Saturday 13 March: Pray for those with special needs that they and their families would receive the help and support that they need.

Sunday 14 March: Pray for Junior Church that through it the children would deepen their own knowledge and faith.

Monday 15 March: Pray for all those who attend the Blue School that they will grow in faith as they grow in years.

Tuesday 16 March: Pray for those who already feel that they do not fit into school, that they would be befriended and helped so that they do not give up.

Week 5 – Teenagers (12-16 years)

Wednesday 17 March: Pray that God would protect the teenagers in our area from getting into bad habits and bad friendships.

Thursday 18 March: Pray for the girls who attend the Green School that this Christian context will enable them to grow in faith as they grow into adults. 

Friday 19 March: Pray for teenagers who have an active faith that this would not be crowded out by all the pressures of the world.

Saturday 20 March: Pray for teenagers who are fearful of exams and the result. Help them to know that they are worth far more than any bit of paper says.

Sunday 21 March: Pray for Pathfinders and Flightpath, that those who attend would be developing a personal faith that would last a lifetime.

Monday 22 March: Pray for all those who attend Isleworth and Syon School. May they find school to be a caring environment where they can reach their full potential.

Tuesday 23 March: Pray for teenagers who are struggling with the transition to becoming adults and give their parents the patience and wisdom that they need.

Week 6 – Those who help children

Wednesday 24 March: Pray for teachers. That they would be enthusiastic about their subjects and be good role models for the children in our area.

Thursday 25 March: Remember with thanks those who staff A&E and emergency services at all hours so that there is somewhere to turn in a medical emergency.

Friday 26 March: Pray for GPs that you would give them the time that they need with their younger patients and wisdom about the help that they offer.

Saturday 27 March: Pray for social workers that they would have the wisdom to know when to intervene and how best to do so.

Sunday 28 March: Pray for all those in church who help to care for and to teach the children of our church that they would continue to grow in their own walk with God.

Monday 29 March: Thank God for the work of health visitors particularly in helping new parents care for their babies.

Tuesday 30 March: Pray that the leaders of the Uniformed Groups (scouts, guides etc.) that meet at St Mary’s would have the energy and enthusiasm that they need.

Week 7 – The Easter Message

Wednesday 31 March: Pray for the Easter services at St Mary’s church that many who do not normally come to church would hear the truth about Jesus.

Maundy Thursday 1 April: Pray that those of us who have or know children would teach the children the truth about Jesus through our words and deeds.

Good Friday 2 April: Remember all who mourn the death of a loved one, particularly a child. Pray that God would bring them peace and hope.

Easter Eve Saturday 3 April: Pray that many children in our area would come to a deeper knowledge of Jesus this Easter time.

Easter Day Sunday 4th April: 

Alleluia, Christ is risen!

Give thanks as we celebrate the risen Christ and continue to pray for our 2020 vision.   

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ!
By his great mercy he has given us a new birth into a living
hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead
