Buildings

The history of the founding and building of the two churches in the parish of St. Mary, Spring Grove in the second half of the nineteenth century is described in Heston and Isleworth Churches of British History online.

More recently, a Parish Centre comprising two church halls has been built. to provide a variety of opportunities for worship and community use.

Church Buildings

St Mary's church is just south of the Great West Road (A4) near Osterley Church Front BorderedPark.

The church, built in 1856 of Bath stone in the Decorated Gothic style, is a striking and pleasing local landmark with its tall spire and clock. It is situated on a quiet, wide, tree-lined road.

The church has north and south porches at the western end providing access to its spacious interior and the opportunity to view the stained glass windows.

The central area (the nave) seats around 200 people and together with the gallery and aisles can accommodate 450 for major occasions. There is a small chapel and the front area (the chancel) can be re-arranged to allow both intimate services and large community events such as those staged by muscial organisations in our community. St Luke's church is situated near the centre of St Luke'sHounslow on Kingsley Road next to Hounslow East station on the Picadilly Line of the London Underground.

The church, which is brick, was built about 1880. It has an extension meeting room, vestry, kitchen and small hall.

It is used for Sunday and midweek services and for other community events, such as a monthly coffee morning.

Parish Centre

The Parish Centre, which comprises the Millennium Hall and Centenary Hall, is located in St Mary's grounds and offers excellent opportunites for varied worship and community use.

St Mary’s Parish CentreThe Millennium Hall, which was completed in 2003, is home to St Mary's Parish Office and has a large main hall with adjoining committee rooms that can be linked to it or used separately. There is a well equipped kitchen and there are toilets, baby changing facilities and a disabled toilet.

The hall has photovoltaic solar panels, which supply electricity to both halls and the grid.

The Centenary Hall, which was built for the church's centenary in 1956, is a modernised, medium sized building with a single main hall, kitchen and toilet facilities.

Both halls are available for hire by the community when not being used for church services or events.
